Let's build a repair café workshop together in Cairo
Volunteers in Cairo are raising $650 for a repair café workshop at the old Jacaranda bus depot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 270 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $500
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
