Fernando is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a master's in public health at Calamba Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $750.
The registrar has said Fernando can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Fernando has a 3.8 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Fernando would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Fernando isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Calamba Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $750 goes:
• Final term tuition: $650
• Textbooks and materials: $30
• Exam and lab fees: $70
