Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 123 each week. Donations have dropped by about 58% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Pune market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $300 goes: • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $55 • Baby formula and diapers: $110 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $135 With deep gratitude, Pratik

  • stay strong, Pratik. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. It's not much but it's yours. Blessings.

    • is there anything that isn't money that would help Pratik?

Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about fresh vegetables and fruit, advice is welcome too. I'll keep the page updated.

    • Hope it all works out. Looking forward to the next update. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend

      • You're not alone. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Pune.

        • sending love, Pratik. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
