Cooper was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Riverside University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in September. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Cooper is 37, worked as a nurse until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Riverside University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,000
