Get Usha back on the road: my tuk-tuk repair fund
Without my tuk-tuk Usha can't work; a $300 repair would put her back on the road.
🇮🇳 Surat, Gujarat, India549 views
I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 10 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $300 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $195
• Labor charges: $25
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $40
• Towing and inspection: $40
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

you're not alone, Usha. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Sending love, Usha. Hope you get there. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
Sending love, Usha. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Surat
