I make my living with my motorbike. 8 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 4 children. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.

• engine head gasket replacement (parts): $540
• Labor charges: $170
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $270
• Towing and inspection: $170

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Rebecca.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. engine head gasket replacement (parts) comes first ($540) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
So sorry you're going through this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 13 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
