I'm caring for my mother, who's 80. After a heart attack Gemma can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Gemma desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Gemma worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $6,100 goes: • Part-time carer (three months): $4,550 • Medication and prescriptions: $900 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $360 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $290 Every share and every dollar helps.
