I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at Cebu City General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600.
My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $600 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $490
• Fitting and training sessions: $25
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $65
