Gemma's final semester of a diploma in hospitality management in Cebu City

Gemma is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a diploma in hospitality management at Cebu City Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $400. The registrar has said Gemma can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Gemma has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Gemma would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Gemma isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
