Eleanor, my mother, passed away on 15 November after a stroke. She was 56 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $3,850 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 27 November. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Eleanor to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $3,850 goes: • Memorial gathering for the family: $230 • Funeral home services and casket: $2,950 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $670 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
