Fighting thyroid cancer: help Sophie afford treatment in Haarlem

In May I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. My oncology team at Haarlem Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 8 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 34, I worked as a bakery worker until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Haarlem Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $5,150 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $1,700
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,000
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $650
• Transport to Haarlem Cancer Centre: $800
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
