Miguel was diagnosed with stomach cancer in July. The oncology team at the Caxias do Sul Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Miguel is 54, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Caxias do Sul Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
