Roofing help wanted: Georgina's home in Takoradi
The roof at Georgina's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.
🇬🇭 Western, Ghana656 views
I'm a single mother of three living in Takoradi. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $400, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Thanks for being kind about this.

sending good thoughts. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Blessings.
Sending strength, Georgina. Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Takoradi.
Best of luck, Georgina. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update. Take care!
Thinking of you and your family, Georgina. Hope you get there.
Praying for you. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Kakamega.
Good luck. I hope things turn around soon. It's not much but it's yours. All the best.
