Montego Bay
In April I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. My oncology team at the Montego Bay Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in July. I was told to expect about 7 weeks away from work. I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 30, I worked as a shop owner until April, and I have been the main earner for my household. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Montego Bay Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly. My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $850 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100 • Transport to the Montego Bay Oncology Institute: $115 • Household costs while unable to work: $450 • Scans and lab work: $185 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
