Kelly was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at Salvador University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Kelly is 45, worked as a bus conductor until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Salvador University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,500 goes: • Transport to Salvador University Hospital: $250 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $290 • Household costs while unable to work: $510 • Scans and lab work: $450 Thanks for reading all this.
