Sade is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Sade was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May. The oncology team at Wudil Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Sade is 54, worked as a taxi driver until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Wudil Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,000 goes: • Transport to Wudil Regional Medical Center: $110 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $650 • Scans and lab work: $240 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • so sorry you're going through this, Ifeanyi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Townsville this morning
