Roberto was diagnosed with severe cataracts in both eyes in April. The surgeon at San Nicolás de los Garza Orthopedic Institute recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for July. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,200, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $900 short.
my father has been in and out of San Nicolás de los Garza Orthopedic Institute since April. The doctors say severe cataracts in both eyes will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,200 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Roberto struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Roberto won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
