Port Harcourt
Dayo was diagnosed with prostate cancer in March. The oncology team at the Port Harcourt Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Dayo is 25, worked as a primary school teacher until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Port Harcourt Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,950 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150 • Scans and lab work: $230 • Transport to the Port Harcourt Oncology Institute: $180 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $105 • Household costs while unable to work: $285 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Updates from Idowu

  1. Update from Port Harcourt: I made the first payment toward transport to the Port Harcourt Oncology Institute. We're at 49% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($295 in total) I made the first payment toward nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
