Rotimi was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in April. The oncology team at Bonny Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Rotimi is 37, worked as a construction supervisor until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Bonny Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,550 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050
• Scans and lab work: $135
• Transport to Bonny Cancer Centre: $170
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60
• Household costs while unable to work: $135
