Travis, my father, passed away on 27 February after a sudden heart attack. He was 82 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,900 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 8 March. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Travis to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $1,900 goes: • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,050 • Memorial gathering for the family: $510 • Transport of the deceased: $340 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • hang in there. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Portland this morning.

    • Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best

      • So sorry you're going through this, Clara. It takes guts to ask. Well done
