Fighting kidney cancer: help Shilpa afford treatment in Bhopal
Shilpa is facing kidney cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Shilpa was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July. The oncology team at the Bhopal Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Shilpa is 30, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Bhopal Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,150
• Transport to the Bhopal Oncology Institute: $105
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85
• Scans and lab work: $160
