Maverick was diagnosed with kidney cancer in August. The oncology team at Auckland Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Maverick is 27, worked as a bank teller until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Auckland Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $9,850 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,500 • Scans and lab work: $1,650 • Transport to Auckland Regional Medical Center: $700 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
