Evelyn was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May. The oncology team at Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Evelyn is 53, worked as a bank teller until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Newcastle upon Tyne University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
