A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Makassar
Volunteers in Makassar are raising $400 for a covered market stall space at the Maple community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 391 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $300
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $55
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

You're not alone, Dinda. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from London.
Hope things get better soon, Dinda. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together. God bless
Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
