Andrea was diagnosed with kidney cancer in September. The oncology team at Palmira Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Andrea is 45, worked as a shop owner until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Palmira Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $3,000 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $460 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $200 • Scans and lab work: $270 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,070 Glad we found this place.
