Fighting Hodgkin lymphoma: help Sawsan afford treatment in Shubra

Sawsan is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Shubra
Sawsan was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in November. The oncology team at Shubra Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in January. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Sawsan is 24, worked as a bank teller until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Shubra Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,750 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $145 • Household costs while unable to work: $340 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,200 • Transport to Shubra Cancer Centre: $65 With deep gratitude, Amira

Updates from Amira

  1. Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($55). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts.
