Fighting early-stage lung cancer: help Stella afford treatment in Bronx
Supporting Stella through early-stage lung cancer: medication, transport to the Bronx Oncology Institute, and living costs while She cannot work.
Anywhere in the world1,690 views
Stella was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in May. The oncology team at the Bronx Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Stella is 27, worked as a bakery worker until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Bronx Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $5,450 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $2,250
• Transport to the Bronx Oncology Institute: $560
• Scans and lab work: $1,800
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $840
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
- Shawn

You're not alone. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in London but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Bronx.
Keep going, Shawn. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
Best of luck, Shawn. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Kisumu donated after I showed her your page. All the best!
