Get Lanre back on the road: my taxi repair fund

Lanre drives for a living in Ibadan, and a broken suspension has stopped all income for 8 weeks.

I make my living with my taxi. 8 weeks ago the suspension failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $150 goes: • Road tax and insurance renewal: $25 • Labor charges: $45 • suspension replacement (parts): $80 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Thank you. If you're in Ibadan I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Good question.

  • Keep going. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My neighbor in Addis Ababa donated after I showed her your page. God bless.

    • So sorry you're going through this, Lanre. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did

      • wishing you peace. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
