Fighting colon cancer: help Tharindu afford treatment in Colombo
Tharindu is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Tharindu was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at the Colombo Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Tharindu is 39, worked as a farmer until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Colombo Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,250
• Scans and lab work: $115
• Household costs while unable to work: $435
