Help Shrijana cover an overdue heating bill so the household stays safe this winter.

The heating account is 2 months behind. Shrijana received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before a reduction in hours. Shrijana called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available. The household includes two young children, and going through winter without heating isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. Shrijana is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Utility arrears: $60 • Reconnection and late fees: $20 • Down payment on a payment plan: $20 Thanks for being kind about this. - Binita

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Shrijana.

    • Binita BistaOwnerAnswer

Sure. The biggest one is utility arrears, $60. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.

    • Is there anything that isn't money that would help Shrijana?

Thank you. If you're in Kathmandu I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.
