Fighting cervical cancer: help Owen afford treatment in San Jose
4 rounds of treatment are planned at San Jose University Hospital; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Owen was diagnosed with cervical cancer in July. The oncology team at San Jose University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Owen is 27, worked as a hairdresser until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $7,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,650
• Scans and lab work: $1,550
• Transport to San Jose University Hospital: $900
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $510
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,240
Thank you so much.
