Nakhon Ratchasima
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 96 each week. Donations have dropped by about 43% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Nakhon Ratchasima market and keep every receipt. Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $550 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $200 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $230 • Baby formula and diapers: $120 Thank you so much.

  • Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chanida.

    • Sure. The biggest one is rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), $200. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.

  • Hope it all works out. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
