The Community Pantry pantry in Fayetteville is running low just as demand rises; $3,700 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Fayetteville

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Saturday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 386 each week. Donations have dropped by about 42% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Fayetteville market and keep every receipt. Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $3,700 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,600 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,450 • Baby formula and diapers: $530 • Refrigeration and electricity: $120 Thanks for being kind about this.
