Rebuilding after the winter storm: the Millbrook neighborhood needs your help
After the winter storm, families in the Millbrook neighborhood need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇺🇸 United States3,847 views
The winter storm hit the Millbrook neighborhood on 8 May. My home was one of 67 damaged, and 8 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,500 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,600
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,050
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $690
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,650
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,510
Every share and every dollar helps.

Best of luck, Benjamin. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't give up. All the best
Hope things get better soon. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to León so I could bring a meal. Love from The Hague
Sending strength, Benjamin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours.
More neighborhoods should do this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Saket.
