Feed 367 families each week at Bread & Beans Kitchen in Leeds
The Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry in Leeds is running low just as demand rises; $2,700 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 367 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Leeds market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,700
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $480
• Baby formula and diapers: $330
• Refrigeration and electricity: $190
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. I have a 7 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Leeds.
Good luck, Eliana. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Take care, Eliana. Your post was clear and honest. All the best.
Hope things get better soon, Eliana. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Love from Caruaru.
Hang in there, Eliana. Hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
You're not alone, Eliana. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.
