Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Johannesburg.

Pieter has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Pieter can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Pieter's family will cook lunch for the team. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Gave what I could, wish it was more. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Johannesburg

    • Wishing you peace. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Johannesburg.

      • Hang in there, Ahmed. Hope you get there. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
