Feed 364 families each week at the Thursday Table in Berlin
Sarah runs a volunteer pantry feeding 364 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Saturday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 364 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Berlin market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $930
• Refrigeration and electricity: $300
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,220
Glad we found this place.

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Put this on a community board in Jakarta Barat this morning.
Thinking of you and your family. Your post was clear and honest. After 9 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Berlin.
Keep going. This could happen to any of us. Greetings from Thiruvananthapuram.
So sorry you're going through this. Hope you get there. Don't give up.
Sending strength, Sarah. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
