The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Kasarani is running low just as demand rises; $300 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 342 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kasarani market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $300 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $125
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $150
