Ribeirão Preto

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 336 each week. Donations have dropped by about 54% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ribeirão Preto market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $550 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $95 • Refrigeration and electricity: $55 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $400 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Wagner
