Feed 180 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Toronto
The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Toronto is running low just as demand rises; $3,450 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Friday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 11 families, and now we feed 180 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Toronto market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,700
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,150
• Baby formula and diapers: $280
• Refrigeration and electricity: $320
Thanks for being kind about this.
