Ikeja
Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 167 each week. Donations have dropped by about 41% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Ikeja market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $200 goes: • Refrigeration and electricity: $25 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $105 • Baby formula and diapers: $70 With deep gratitude, Femi

Updates from Femi

  1. We're at 17% thanks to 4 of you. I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 7% now ($14). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit.

Hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.

      • Hope it all works out, Femi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Tiruchirappalli but we're thinking of you.
