Feed 141 families each week at the Thursday Table in Sacramento

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Monday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 141 each week. Donations have dropped by about 35% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Sacramento market and keep every receipt. Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $2,100 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $680 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $610 • Baby formula and diapers: $480 • Refrigeration and electricity: $330 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
