Alice, my grandmother, passed away on 23 March after a sudden heart attack. She was 45 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $2,650 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 5 April. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Alice to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the San Jose hospice. Where the $2,650 goes: • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,900 • Transport of the deceased: $360 • Memorial gathering for the family: $390 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
