Esther's cataract surgery can't wait - please help us cover the bill
After an aortic valve defect, Esther was cleared for cataract surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Esther was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in September. The surgeon at Mombasa General Hospital recommended cataract surgery, and She is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,300 short.
my wife has been in and out of Mombasa General Hospital since September. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without cataract surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Esther struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 12 weeks. During that time Esther won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
