I'm caring for my mother, who's 77. After a diagnosis of dementia Duha can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Duha desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Duha worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $2,400 goes: โ€ข Part-time carer (eight months): $1,500 โ€ข Medication and prescriptions: $500 โ€ข Hospital bed and mattress rental: $200 โ€ข Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $200 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

          Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. part-time carer (eight months) comes first ($1,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
