Don't let Juan's family go through the cold months without electricity

Juan is behind on electricity bills after losing my job in May and needs $250 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $250. I have never been late before losing my job in May. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have. I live with three children under ten, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Juan's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $250 goes: • Electricity arrears: $170 • Reconnection and late fees: $40 • Down payment on a payment plan: $40 With deep gratitude, Juan
