The electricity account is 3 months behind. Garima received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household.
Garima called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the rainy season without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
Garima is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Garima's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
