I'm caring for my father, who's 96. After a heart attack Oisin can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Oisin desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Oisin worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $3,750 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $560
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $470
• Part-time carer (eight months): $2,720
