Davi is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at Rio de Janeiro Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,400.
The registrar has said Davi can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Davi has a distinction average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Davi would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Davi isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
