Knee replacement surgery for Abosede: covering what insurance won't
After a benign brain tumor, Abosede was cleared for knee replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Abosede was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Lagos Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,300, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $650 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Lagos Regional Medical Center since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Abosede struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Abosede won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
